My current research focuses on two related areas.
First, my research focuses on efforts to improve how prospective teachers understand the connections between secondary and undergraduate mathematics in the context of upper division mathematics courses and graduate courses.
Second, my research focuses on the many challenges that students, faculty, and departments face in the context of undergraduate mathematics. Namely, research indicates that inquiry settings can be beneficial (but not guaranteed to be equitable (Johnson et al., 2020)) for students yet oftentimes structures do not exist to support faculty to meet the desired reforms. My work focuses on providing support for faculty for their instruction to be equitable and rooted in inquiry.
