Wave RiderZ is a high octane 2-4 player asymmetric local multiplayer game, where players are tethered to the back of a plane that is flying down a river. Skiers gain points from staying alive and collecting coins, while attempting to avoid obstacles in their way. The player in the plane can pull the Skiers along with them, and has a Tethered Mine and Exploding Beach Ball at their disposal to disrupt and damage the Skiers. At the end of each round, the player controlling the plane swaps, and once everyone has had a turn, the player with the most points wins!

Wave RiderZ was my 2019 End of Year project, made in a team of 10. My role on the team was Producer and secondary Designer.

I kept the team on track and in check through a variety of means, including managing a HackNPlan and various Burndown Charts throughout development. Wave RiderZ was my first time managing a group overall, and after the brief introductory period in which the group got more comfortable with each other, the process of running Standup every morning and managing multiple documents became much easier.

Development overall went rather smoothly. The unofficial Lead Artist and Programmer both set into their roles quite nicely, working closely with me and updating on what was done and what was being done. There were a few hiccups along the way, but they were all quickly addressed and development was brought back on schedule.

This game and the process of making it served as an excellent learning experience. Outside of helping set some of the pre-production up and making a few minor decisions along the way, the majority of the major design decisions were out of my hands. This gave me more time to focus on being a producer and helping my team, and helped me learn both good self-management and team management skills along the way,
