Hush — Privacy Policy

Hush collects nothing about you. There is no account, no analytics, no
advertising and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is sent
anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.
WHAT IS STORED, AND WHERE
Hush remembers your settings so you do not have to set them again: the last
sound you played, your favourites, saved mixes, volume, tone, sleep timer
preference and reminder time.
All of it is stored only on your device, in the app's own storage. It is never
uploaded, never backed up to us, and never shared. Nobody but you can read it.
THE MICROPHONE
Hush has one optional feature that uses the microphone: it can listen for
sustained loud sound nearby and gently raise the volume to help mask it.
- It is off unless you turn it on, and iOS and Android will ask your
permission the first time.
- It measures loudness only — a number, many times a second. It does not
transcribe, recognise or identify anything.
- Audio is never recorded, never saved and never transmitted. Nothing is
written to disk and nothing leaves the device.
- It runs only while the app is on screen. It stops the moment you switch away
or lock the phone.
- You can turn it off at any time in the app, or revoke the permission in your
phone's settings.
PURCHASES
Hush offers a single one-time purchase. That transaction is handled entirely
by the App Store or Google Play. We never see your name, your email, your
payment details or any part of your payment method — the store simply tells
the app whether the purchase exists. Apple's and Google's own privacy policies
cover that transaction.
NOTIFICATIONS
If you set a nightly reminder, it is scheduled on your device by your phone's
own notification system. No reminder ever passes through a server of ours.
WHAT HUSH DOES NOT DO
- No analytics or usage measurement of any kind.
- No advertising, and no advertising software in the app.
- No third-party trackers, no device or advertising identifiers.
- No accounts, no sign-up, no email collection.
- No data sold, shared or disclosed — there is none to sell.
CHILDREN
Hush is used by parents, for children who are too young to use a phone. It
collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. Because nothing is
collected, nothing about a child is collected either.
DELETING YOUR DATA
Deleting the app removes everything it stored, permanently. There is nothing
held elsewhere for us to delete on your behalf, and no request you need to
send us.
CHANGES
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will appear on this page with
a new date above. If a future version of Hush ever collected anything at all,
that change would be described here before it shipped.
