Niceville BLM was started by a loose coalition of local Niceville High School students and recent alumni who initially stated their support for the Black Lives Matter by cupping the Niceville bridge. Since then, it has become an increasingly organized group of dedicated students committed to inspiring the community conversation in promoting equality and justice for all. Working closely with both the Diversity Council at Niceville High School and Project I’mPossible, Niceville BLM is working to address the issues associated with police violence, mass incarceration, racial injustice and inequality by collecting and sharing the stories of community members, engaging with our neighbors in constructive conversations, increasing awareness through events and media, and working towards tangible changes in local school, government, and policing policies.
