Call for Abstract

The Conference Programme Committee of the NICCSR 2026 invites scholars, researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, and postgraduate students to submit abstracts for presentation at the international conference. All submitted abstracts will undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the conference theme.

Accepted presenters will be invited to submit full papers and present their research during the conference. Selected manuscripts may have the opportunity to be considered for publication in partner journals.

Conference Sub-Themes

Participants are required to select one relevant sub-theme during registration. Submitted abstracts must address at least one of the following research areas:

1. Democratic Backsliding and Authoritarian Resurgence

Exploring challenges to democratic institutions, the decline of democratic norms, authoritarian tendencies, political power consolidation, and institutional resilience.

2. Democracy, Inequality, and Social Justice

Examining the relationship between democratic governance, social inequality, economic disparities, inclusion, and the pursuit of social justice.

3. Governance, Corruption, and Rule of Law in Fragile Democracies

Discussing governance challenges, corruption prevention, institutional accountability, legal reform, and strengthening the rule of law in democratic systems.

4. Human Rights, Citizenship, and State Power

Analyzing human rights protection, citizenship, state authority, civil liberties, and the relationship between citizens and government.

5. Digital Democracy, Disinformation, and Algorithmic Power

Exploring the transformation of democracy in the digital era, including online political participation, misinformation, artificial intelligence, digital surveillance, and algorithmic governance.

6. Political Economy of Democracy and Capitalist Transformations

Investigating the intersection between democracy, capitalism, economic structures, political economy, globalization, and changing patterns of state-market relations.

Abstract Submission Fee

To complete the abstract submission process, participants are required to pay the following abstract submission fee:

• National Presenter IDR 25,000

• International Presenter USD 5

Notes:

• The abstract submission fee applies to all presenters submitting abstracts to NICCSR 2026.

• Payment must be completed before the abstract review process begins.

• Proof of payment must be uploaded through the official registration form.

• The abstract submission fee is non-refundable.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

General Requirements

Submitted abstracts must comply with the following requirements:

1. Abstracts must be written in clear and academically appropriate English.

2. Submissions must present original research that has not been previously published or presented at another academic event.

3. The abstract must clearly describe the problem being addressed.

4. The recommended length is 250–300 words, excluding keywords.

5. Abstracts must be written/formatted in a single paragraph.

6. Authors should avoid unnecessary abbreviations and highly technical terminology in their abstracts.

Keywords

• Authors must provide 3–5 keywords after the abstract.

• Keywords should represent the main concepts and focus of the research.

• Keywords must be separated using semicolons (;).

Formatting Requirements

The abstract document must follow these formatting standards:

  • Font Size: 12 pt

  • Line Spacing: Single (1.0)

  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

  • Alignment: Justified

  • Title: Bold, Title Case, Centered

Abstract Evaluation Criteria

All submitted abstracts will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

1. Relevance to the conference theme and sub-themes.

2. Originality and contribution to existing academic discussions.

3. Clarity of research objectives and methodology.

4. Significance of findings and expected contributions.

5. Academic quality, coherence, and writing standards.

6. Potential contribution to theoretical development, practical implementation, or public policy.
