2019 Scholarship Recipients

ANNE R. DIONNE

Anne is a fifth year student at the University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy enrolled in the PharmD program. From Laconia, NH, Anne’s interest in pharmacy surfaced while a sophomore in high school. During her senior year, she did an internship at the Lakes Region General Hospital pharmacy which confirmed her decision to become a pharmacist. Currently she plans to work in hospital pharmacy upon graduation but she also has an interest public health and working in underprivileged communities while utilizing her pharmacy education. While at URI, Anne is recognized for her Leadership skills serving as president and treasurer of several student professional pharmacy organizations. Anne anticipates to graduate with her PharmD degree in May 2021. In 2019 Anne received a $1,750 scholarship award from the NH Pharmacists Association Foundation, Inc.


SARAH COCONIS

Sarah is in the second year of the 3 year accelerated PharmD program at MCPHS University – College of Pharmacy at Manchester, NH. From Raymond, NH, Sarah first earned a degree in Biomedical Sciences before moving on to pharmacy. Prior to starting at MCPHS University, Sarah spent a couple years as an acrobatic performer with Circus Maine. While at MCPHS University, Sarah has demonstrated exemplary leadership skills by serving as president and vice president of several student professional pharmacy organizations. Sarah looks forward to graduation day and the award of her PharmD degree in May 2021. Sarah received a $1,750 scholarship award which included funds from the Roland Gosselin Memorial Trust Fund; the George Skenderian Memorial Trust Fund and the NH Pharmacists Foundation, Inc Scholarship Fund.


JOHN KASSIS

John graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy in 2020 with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. In addition to working at Walgreen’s and PillPack Pharmacy during his academic career, he was deeply involved within UConn, assuming several roles over the years. As a third-year pharmacy student at UConn, John was Vice-President of both Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and Pharmacy Student Government, a School of Pharmacy Ambassador, Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Society member and a LEADERS Track Scholar. His work within the school primarily focused on philanthropy such as organizing fundraisers to support the Movember Foundation and a leadership fund that financially supports students interested in attending conferences and continuing education seminars. As an ambassador, he led Open Houses, “How to get into pharmacy school” seminars, and worked closely with local high schools to advocate for the profession of pharmacy. He is now actively pursuing a career within the pharmaceutical industry and would like to become a university professor later in his professional career. John received $1750 scholarship award from the NHPA Scholarship Foundation, Inc.
