As part of the educational efforts of the festival, the organizers wanted to put a spotlight on the event as an annual “competitive sport” that focuses on the arts. From this approach, the Festival Trophy was introduced.
The trophy was designed and crafted by festival program director Mike Place and Dan Mullen. The metal for the top of the trophy was generously donated by All Metals Industries of Belmont, NH and was milled at Lakes Region Community College.
All of the Jury Award recipients going back to 2008 are represented on the trophy, and from the 2015 festival and going forward, the Jury Award winner’s school hosts the trophy for the following school year, standing proud next to other athletic and academic awards.
