Campus policy regarding religious observances requires that faculty make every effort to deal reasonably and fairly with all students who, because of religious obligations, have conflicts with scheduled exams, assignments, or required attendance. In this class, you should inform your professor of any conflict as soon as possible, and at least a week in advance.
All students enrolled in a University of Colorado Boulder course are responsible for knowing and adhering to the Honor Code academic integrity policy. Violations of the Honor Code may include, but are not limited to: plagiarism, cheating, fabrication, lying, bribery, threat, unauthorized access to academic materials, clicker fraud, submitting the same or similar work in more than one course without permission from all course instructors involved, and aiding academic dishonesty. Our classroom is dedicated to fostering mutual respect and inclusivity. It is a space where all individuals are valued and encouraged to participate without fear of discrimination. Your feedback and concerns are always welcome to help us build a more supportive and collaborative environment. Engaging in small group discussions is one way we can promote positive and inclusive interactions for everyone.
Maintaining a positive learning environment is a shared responsibility of students and faculty. Adherence to behavioral standards is essential, and violations may result in disciplinary action. Professionalism and sensitivity are vital, especially when addressing topics related to race, color, national origin, sex, pregnancy, age, disability, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, veteran status, political affiliation, or political philosophy.
CU Boulder is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for learning, working, and living. Acts of sexual misconduct (harassment, exploitation, and assault), intimate partner violence (dating or domestic violence), stalking, or protected-class discrimination and harassment are not tolerated. If you believe you have experienced misconduct or retaliatory actions for reporting a concern, please contact the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance (OIEC) at 303-492-2127 or email cureport@colorado.edu.
For more information about OIEC, university policies, reporting options, and campus resources, visit the OIEC website. Please note that faculty and graduate instructors are required to report incidents of sexual misconduct, dating and domestic violence, stalking, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation to ensure that impacted individuals receive information about their rights, resources, and reporting options.
CU Boulder recognizes that a student's legal information may not align with their identity. Students can update their preferred names and pronouns in the student portal, which will appear on class rosters. If no updates are made, the legal name will be used.
