Congrats on your new phone! You'll be happy to learn that the Smart Switch app lets you seamlessly transfer all your content from your previous iOS phone to a Samsung Galaxy phone. You can also create a backup of your iOS device and sync data using Smart Switch for a Mac or PC.

Note: Security and privacy are the utmost concern at Samsung. Samsung does NOT store your Apple account information on the phone or anywhere else. The Apple ID and password you enter are immediately used to log in to the iCloud backup server and never stored on the phone or anywhere else. Smart Switch allows you to transfer content to a Galaxy device. It cannot transfer data to an iOS device. Get Smart Switch for your phone, Mac, or PC.

The one tiny drawback of getting a new phone or tablet is having to manually transfer all your important data. Don't worry, Smart Switch allows you to easily transfer contacts, photos, messages, and other types of files. You can even create a backup for your old files using your PC or Mac, and then transfer or sync your data onto your new Galaxy phone or tablet.

The HTC Evo Shift 4G (trademarked in capitals as EVO Shift 4G or The Evo Has an Alter tag_hash_114___) is a smartphone developed by HTC Corporation and marketed as the concurrent/sequel to Sprint's flagship Android smartphone, running on its 4G WiMAX network. The smartphone launched on January 9, 2011.

The EVO Shift has a balanced hardware-software user interface, featuring seven hardware/touch sensitive buttons, four of which are on the front of the device. Input and interaction with the device is balanced between the hardware and software user interface and in most situations require users to use hardware/touch sensitive buttons often throughout Android OS. Like most Android devices, the EVO features four main touch-sensitive buttons on the front of its device which are the Home, Menu, Back, and Search. The Home button displays the Sense Home screen. The Menu button displays menu options in various applications although it can also be used for other purposes, the Back button displays the prior page or screen a user was on, and the Search button mainly allows search through the phone, although it can also be used for other purposes in various applications. Unlike most smart-phones, the device has no hardware ringer switch.[9] On the left spine are placed the volume adjustment controls. A multifunction sleep/wake button is placed on the top of the device which serves as the unit's power and sleep button and also controls phone calls. The touchscreen furnishes the remainder of the user interface.

The device responds to four sensors. A proximity sensor deactivates the display and touchscreen when the device is brought near the face during a call. This is done to save battery power and to prevent inadvertent inputs from the user's face and ears. An ambient light sensor adjusts display brightness which in turn saves battery power. A 3-axis accelerometer senses the orientation of the phone and changes the screen accordingly, allowing the user to easily switch between page orientation modes. A geomagnetism sensor provides orientation with respect to Earth's magnetic field. The proximity sensor and the accelerometer can also be used to control and/or interact with third party apps, notably games. The device also contains a temperature sensor used for monitoring the temperature of the battery.

The back of the EVO Shift sports a speaker which is used for most applications like music, applications, and such as the main speaker. A loudspeaker is located above the screen which serves as an earpiece. The microphone is featured on the bottom of the phone which is used for phone calls and voice-commands although it can also be used in many other third-party applications. The Sprint Mobile Hotspot application allows users to share the device's mobile broadband on up to eight devices.

The EVO Shift features a CDMA cellular radio that supports 3G EVDO, revisions 0, A, and the as yet undeployed B allowing faster download and upload speeds, and better power efficiency. As well as WiMAX, protocol known as 802.16e, which features speeds of up to 10 Mbit/s on the downlink, and 1 Mbit/s on the uplink. The device is marketed as a 4G phone, WiMAX is considered to be a 4G technology based on 4G standards set by ITU-R.

The Sprint HTC Evo Shift 4G comes from the factory locked without any root privileges. There was almost immediately a temporary root exploit available, and as of 1/28 there is a permanent root. The permanent root sets the phones S-OFF, which means the NAND, or ROM, can be written to without signature checks. This allows for custom, unsigned images to be flashed.[11]

The phone comes with a 1-year warranty, which does not cover scratches, cracks, smudge marks, liquid damage, and other forms of physical damage. Sending phones for repair is typically handled by the phone service provider, rather than through HTC.[14]

I have already tried most of the proposed solutions in stackoverflow like android:inputType="textCapCharacters" or setAllCaps(true) but what happens is that the caps lock can't be disable. With the above solutions, upon pressing shift the user will insert one single character in lowercase and then the system automatically sets the keyboard back to caps lock.

Keep in mind that I started the question with "like if I double click (or long press) the shift key", because using the inputType solution you have this situation:That has not the white caps dash like if I manually enable caps lock:

I have to keep using android:inputType="textCapCharacters" but when the user presses the shift key and type a single character in lowercase, a textwatcher removes the flag textCapCharacters.

I couldn't transfer music files from my Samsung Galaxy S9+ to my MP3 player using theISB cable and connector. It's only charging the MP3 Player but it wouldn't let me switch to phone to carry out the transfer. I've done it before and it was ok, but now it won't allow me. I don't know what's wrong. Each time l click on phone, it says couldn't switch and it remains on USB Connect which only charges the MP3 Player.

Same thing happened on my S9+ even without the usb flash drive attached to the connector. Been scouring the internet for a solution but this is the first post I'm coming across. I've got an Huawei P20 mate and the same thing has happened so I think this is down to the recent updates. I've four different connectors and it's ihe same. Can't switch from usb device control to phone control and on the P20 mate it just switches back and disappears. Any solution is very much welcome.

Sheesh, it's not like I need to save money. I think I'll get a secure phone that runs Linux with a hard SELinux policy. Their only about 900.00USD. And they have a googlized VM to interface with the play store. It strips out the objectionable parts of Android apps, converts them to run under the Linux kernel, so you still have all the apps Android has!

If you have any doubts then do the following experiment, plug your standard data cable into a computer and the phone and check the settings it will say "This Phone" under USB controlled by. Now leave that screen up and keep your display active and only plug in a OTG cable / adapter with nothing plugged in to it. You will see it now says that USB is being controlled by "Connected device". This is the actual hard wiring of the OTG cable/Adapter that has the control.

The phone needs to see your MP3 player as a memory storage device. Go to my files on your phone and see if your MP3 player lists as a USB device in the list of devices. If so then select your files and then choose to copy to the USB storage device ( in any folder you require on that device). If your phone doesn't see a USB storage device (phones won't always show the name of the actual device), Then you could try a new OTG adapter or cable and see if that's the problem. You can also connect the MP3 player to a computer and verify it can read the device ( to rule out that the MP3 player is not got a faulty USB port). 0852c4b9a8
