The CSS Profile is an online application used by some colleges to award non-federal institutional aid. This is money that is awarded by the college/university, not the government.
The application opens each year on October 1st. Schools may have different deadlines - be sure to check with each school you are applying to.

The following institutions require and use the CSS Profile as part of their financial aid process: Davidson College, Duke University, Elon University, UNC Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest University.
