BeerPong is played by two teams with table tennis balls, cups, a table and beer. Each team tries to throw a table tennis ball in the other teams cups. If a ball lands in a cup, the cup is removed from the table and the opponent team has to drink the contents of the cup (usually beer). The cups are formed like a pyramid and normally each team has 10 cups. If all balls land in cups during a single move of a team, the team gets back all the balls. The team that hits all the opponents cups wins the game.
If a player throws a ball, he his/her elbow has to be behind the edge of the table. If this is not the case, the throw is invalid. The ball can be thrown directly into a cup or with one or multiple bounces on the table. In case of a bounce the opponent team is allowed to defend their own cups. If a bounced shot lands in a cup, an additional cup has to be removed.
Normally twice per game a team is allowed to rearrange the cups of the opponent team. Rearranging is only possible if the remaining cups will form a pyramid or diamond. Furthermore it is only allowed at the beginning of a teams move.
If a ball rolls back on the table and is grabbed by the attacking team again, the active player is allowed to throw that ball again.
If a player hits two cups in a row he is on heat. If he then scores again with his third throw, he will be on fire. In that state he will get back the ball as long as his shots are landing in a cup.
If a ball is spinning inside of a cup, players of the attacked team are allowed to blow it out or try to pull it out with his/her fingers. In case the ball gets wet, the throw counts and the cup has to be removed.
