Shanghai and Golden Horse
Language and production restrictions — checked 8 November 2026. These profiles use the latest verified 2026 regulations. Neither 2027 application window is confirmed here.
Development, co-production and work-in-progress routes for theatrical features. Language rule: pre-production/co-production projects must be Chinese-language productions or co-productions with China; it is not exclusively a Chinese-language market. Genre and New Talent routes specifically require Chinese-language projects and a Chinese director if attached; New Talent is for a first fiction feature. The 2026 rules exclude animation.
Last call, now closed: opened 1 January 2026; development routes closed 20 March and WIP closed 5 April. Fees were RMB280/480/680 by submission period. These are historical dates and prices, not announced 2027 terms. Prepare a budget and Chinese/English materials; co-productions require both languages, and any full script must at least be in Chinese.
Financing and co-production meetings for fiction, documentary and animation features of at least 60 minutes, with director, producer and production company attached. Language rule: primarily Chinese-language projects or projects by Chinese creators; non-Chinese-language/non-Chinese-creator projects may qualify if intended to shoot in Taiwan. It is therefore broader than “Chinese-language films only”.
2026 round closed: FPP applications ran 1 June–15 July; the separate WIP route closed 31 July. FPP submission fee: NT$1,500. Director and producer/executive producer must attend together. Chinese and English application materials are required. Check new 2027 regulations before budgeting or applying; WIP has separate stage rules.
Documentary project markets
International documentary projects in late development seek co-production and financing partners. Deadline 15 December 2026; industry meetings in Nyon, 11–14 April 2027. Fees apply. For films close to completion, use the separate Work in Progress route, also closing 15 December.
2027 submissions run 2 November–16 December 2026, closing 23:59 Hong Kong time (same as Malaysia). This applies to WIP, not the In-Development call. Check the official format criteria and submission fee.
Project Markets
Find partners for the film you want to make.
Project markets connect selected teams with producers, financiers, sales agents and other industry partners. Choose the route that matches your stage: development, production or a rough cut. Selection does not guarantee investment.

Organiser: APM / Asian Contents & Film Market · Asian fiction features
The 2026 rules required an attached director and producer, previous directing work and a producer with feature experience. Projects could be in development through post-production, but not fully financed or due to finish before that market. Support included industry meetings, pitching, two badges, one representative’s flight and accommodation. The 2026 round is closed; confirm 2027 rules before preparing an application.
International co-production
Organiser: International Film Festival Rotterdam / IFFR Pro · Features · Worldwide
For international co-production projects with a director and producer attached, intended for cinemas and at least 60 minutes long. Published criteria include a maximum €8 million budget, some national development funding or third-party investment, and being new to the international market. Selected teams meet potential financial and creative partners. Submission fees apply; check the current amount and deadline.
Organiser: Berlinale Talents · Producers · Developed features
For producers with fully developed features seeking co-producers or further partners. Open to first-time Talents Summit applicants and returning alumni producers, subject to the route’s specific criteria. This differs from the alumni-only Talents Lab. The 2027 Talents application round is closed; check the next edition’s schedule, service fee and attendance costs.
Prepare before pitching
Make your logline, synopsis, director’s vision and producer’s strategy agree. Bring a credible budget, secured-versus-pending finance plan, schedule and precise request for partners. Check previous-market restrictions, rights to adapted material, language requirements and screener passwords. A development pitch and a rough-cut presentation need different materials.
