About Us

TV MEDIA ARTS and Newton North TV provide students with the skills that make creative professionals and media artists, working with images and sounds to entertain, inform, persuade, and challenge, using state-of-the-art multimedia equipment.

In our class Students…

• Learn aspects of visual storytelling to create original short films and news stories.

• Work in teams, to either report stories on camera or direct from behind the scenes to shoot, edit, and assemble short video segments.

• Projects will take students from the traditional classroom setting to unfamiliar environments where they will conduct hands-on learning by capturing stories throughout the school.

• Use state-of-the-art video cameras, equipment, and computer editing software.

Our program offers 4 course levels (Exploratory, Majors 1, 2, & 3) where students...

• Learn to create documentaries, PSAs, commercials, music videos, and more.

• Conduct and anchor a live studio news broadcast.

• Earn money filming athletic events and musical performances.

• Take field trips to NYC for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Conference, Boston University for the New England Scholastic Press Association Conference, and WGBH Studios for a tour.
