New Roots offers an outdoor preschool and daycare experience for potty trained children aged 2 1/2-entering kindergarten (6 years). We provide daily opportunities to learn academics, but our main focus is on immersing children in nature, encouraging play and exploration. My goal is to spark curiosity while nurturing empathy and respect for the earth and all living things.
Each day will begin with breakfast and free play or yoga inside. From there we will head outside for our daily adventures: walks or hikes, play in the mud kitchen, work in the garden or greenhouse (finished by fall 2025), climb on the ropes course, visit the chickens and goats, sing songs, tell stories, read books, play in the fairy garden, swing, or just listen to and observe nature. Each day we will spend a bit of time on academics (language--Spanish and English, math, science, art, music, etc.). So much of our learning will be integrated into what we are doing outside!
Bathroom breaks will be regularly scheduled every couple of hours, but I will also carry a portable potty when we're out and about.
