GOODBYE SWIRLS, SCRATCHES AND HOLOGRAMS
Paint correction is not relegated to used vehicles with visually evident damage. Believe it or not, we perform paint correction just as frequently on brand new cars. Many modern cars sustain paint damage during transport to the dealership or simply while sitting on the lot.
At Newman's Auto Detailing, we have extensive experience working with a wide range of automotive paint finishes, and can effectively navigate each finish’s complexity and nuances. Our goal is restoring your vehicle’s finish to like-new quality without compromising it in any way.
Our service involves a single or multi-stage polishing process to remove any paint swirls, surface scratches, and oxidation to get your vehicle’s finish looking as flawless as possible. Once the paint has been corrected, most customers will ask us to apply one of our exclusive paint sealants or ceramic coating packages.

WHAT CAN PAINT CORRECTION REMOVE?
SWIRL MARKS
SWIRLS AND COBWEBS
Swirl marks are super fine scratches on a painted surface in your vehicle's clear coat. These occur from wiping your car with a dry towel (typically when it's dusty) or consistent use of an automatic soft-touch car wash.
The only way to permanently remove swirl marks is to polish the vehicle with a silicone-free compound.
SCRATCHES & CLEAR COAT ETCHING
SCRATCHES AND PAINT TRANSFER
Surface scratches on your vehicle's paint caused by paint transfer from a hastily opened car door in a store parking lot or abrasive contact made by bicycle handlebars or garden tools in your home garage.
Surface defects that fall in this category can also be acid rain, bugs, or bird droppings etching into the clear coat.
OXIDATION & UV DAMAGE
Oxidation and UV Damage
Oxidation on a vehicle's surface paint happens as a car sits outside in the elements year-round, especially in the Midwest, where temperatures and precipitation vary greatly. With our paint correction services, we can remove oxidation and restore your vehicle to its original shine.
A preventative measure you can take if parking inside a garage is impossible is to place a cover over your vehicle during inclement weather.

THE PAINT CORRECTION PROCESS
Paint correction is removing imperfections from a vehicle's paintwork, which involves machine polishers and a range of different polish products. A fully corrected vehicle, when viewed in direct sunlight, will show only accurate reflections. Below is our process.
01 HAND WASH
We thoroughly clean the vehicle top to bottom using pH-neutral soap, foam cannons, and a pressure washer. This process is two-fold. We are removing the daily dirt and grease while showcasing the vehicle's current condition.
02 PAINT ASSESSMENT
In this step, we use our daylight temperature inspection lights to assess the vehicle's paint. This process is key to determining the ideal course of action to eradicate paint defects and not to harm the paint further.
03 PAINT DECONTAMINATION
The next step is to rid the paint from ultra-fine, microscopic contaminates. Without damaging the paint further, we utilize clay bars and iron removers to decontaminate the paint's surface.
04 MACHINE POLISHING
Machine polishing is the physical process of permanently removing, or "cutting", paint defects. Depending on the level of service, this can be up to 4 to 12 hours per vehicle.
05 PAINT JEWELING
Once the vehicle has the majority of its paint defects removed from step 4, a haze is typically left_over. Introducing an ultra-fine polish, we begin to jewel the paint to bring ultimate gloss.
06 SEALANT/CERAMIC
Only once the previous steps are completed can we apply a multi-year ceramic coating, sealant, or paint protection film. The final step preserves that showroom shine.
