A proper ceramic coating is a long-term nanoscopic paint treatment and protection applied by a specialized detailer. A ceramic coating is applied in a liquid form and cures to a diamond hard, semi-permanent layer on top of the vehicle's paint. This top layer essentially acts like a turtle's shell, creating a hard, glossy surface while protecting the softer paint inside from scratches and swirls.
To be classified as a ceramic coating (not to be confused with a ceramic spray), the coating must contain a significant silicon dioxide component (silica, Si02), sourced from a natural earth material like quartz and/or sand. When Newman's Auto Detailing applies a ceramic coating to your vehicle's paint, the two layers bond together and begin to repel water after proper cure time.
The purpose of a ceramic coating is to protect a car's paint from blemishes and damage from daily use. After application, a coating makes car washes easier and shields the vehicle from UV rays, bird droppings and numerous other external factors.
