The purpose of this group is to support middle leaders and teachers of maths. It aims to help them develop their knowledge and understanding of:

We are working closely with London North East Maths Hub to help you to access the best professional learning and networking opportunities for maths.
WhatWorked are currently supporting an EdTech company to evaluate the impact of their programmes. This opportunity is for schools using the KS3 White Rose maths scheme.
The school will receive access to Eedi Plus for the two classes who are involved in the 3 – 4 week evaluation for the remainder of the academic year for free, providing access to qualified teachers from 9am – 8pm 7 days a week.

Our maths offer is provided in conjunction with the East London Maths Hub, who are funded by the Department for Education to provide free Maths CPDL. Some of the offer also comes with participation grants to support attendance.

‘Fireside chats’ provide an opportunity to work with a Head Teacher to carry out a lesson study style observation of a live maths lesson. These take place at Downshall Primary School, Ilford.

There is also a really interesting transition project called 5-8 Continuity Project for primary and secondary teachers to work together to facilitate a coherent transition between KS2 and KS3. This is aimed at teachers and subject leaders to help develop and it may be particularly suitable for linked ‘families’ of schools: primary, secondary.
