Events and Key Dates
Here are a few key dates for your diaries. Full details will follow on the members only facebook group and by email.
April 2024
13th April: Parkrun tour.
14th April: The Manchester Marathon. Starting and finishing at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, this is a flat course that is very popular with runners and incredibly well supported.
21st April: The London Marathon. A great day out in the capital whether you are competing or on the Striders support team for this fabulous event.
24th April: Notts AAA Summer League Event 1. Hexgreave Hall.-cancelled.
May 2024
11th May: Parkrun tour.
22nd May: Notts AAA Summer League Event 2. Newark Showground. This is a new event - sponsored by the Newark running clubs - so there will be opportunities to marshal as well as participate.
June 2024
3rd - 7th June: The Gordon Whelbourn Week. Five 5km races in 5 days, organised by Newark AC. Full details and entry form can be found HERE.
10th June: Parkrun tour.
12th June: Notts AAA Summer League Event 3. Woolaton Park.
Friday 21st June: The Summer Solstice 10km. A great midsummer local 10km race, held on the Friday evening closest to the Solstice. Full details and entry: HERE.
July 2024
6th July: Parkrun tour.
10th July: Notts AAA Summer League Event 4. Worksop College.
31st July: Rescheduled (due to poor weather in April) Summer League Event 1: Hexgreave Hall.
August 2024
7th August: Notts AAA Summer League Event 5. Holme Pierrepont.
10th August: Parkrun tour.
September 2024
5th Sepetember: The Bramley Challenge. An evening 5 mile race between local clubs, held during the first week in September. Great atmosphere and great fun.
28th/29th September: Parkrun away tour - Crosby parkrun and Run Aintree.
October 2024
12th October: Parkrun tour.
27th OCtober: Worksop Halloween Half Marathon. A fabulous event run on country lanes and around Clumber Park. Its not exactly flat but does tend to see a lot of PBs. Always a great Striders turn out.
November 2024
16th November: Parkrun tour.
24th November: Doncaster 10km. Local, flat and popular. This is a great event whether you want to really go for it or just enjoy yourself with other Striders.
December 2024
7th December: Parkrun tour.
14th December: It's Christmas Time!: The Newark Striders Christmas Function.
Holme Pierrepont Christmas Relays. A great way to burn off some of that turkey and those mince pies! A great event, teams of 4 made up of two male and two female. Details to follow.
