The tour route and distances between stops have been optimized for bicycling, however it is also walkable. You could tour these historic buildings by car, however some segments of the route are not accessible by car, and car parking is not available at all of the stops. Plus you will miss the full scenery and enjoyment of touring in the open air!
Of course, you can tour the selected sites in any order and starting at any point, and you can skip or add stops as you wish. The recommended tour route follows local cycling laws and offers safe and comfortable stopping points with good views of the sites. While on bicycle, please obey all traffic laws and yield to pedestrians on sidewalks and on crosswalks. Use your smart-phone only when stopped safely on your bicycle!
To take the self-paced tour, follow along using the interactive Google Map on your smart-phone. It may help to print out the printable map and building descriptions page at the left.
