Officially formed in 2018 by husband & wife team Jeremy & Emily Beyer, together with friends & fellow members of the Fox Valley Orchestra, Maura Brown & Allison Zabelin, NVS has quickly become an ensemble in high demand for weddings, events and restaurant & bar entertainment throughout the northwest suburbs of Chicago. NVS can be seen giving frequent public performances at many venues throughout the northwest suburbs of Chicago, including Plank Road Tap Room, Riverlands Brewing Co., Art History Brewing, La Zingara Trattoria, Eden Restaurant & Events, The Anvil Club, Sew Hop'd, Cafe & Barr, Downtown Elgin Harvest Market and North Aurora Riverfront Park. All NVS members hold degrees in music, work full-time as public school orchestra directors, and have been playing together for many years in local orchestras.

Emily Beyer studied music education (BME, 2007) at Northern Illinois University. After five years of teaching orchestra in Hinsdale School District 181, she accepted a position as orchestra director at Yorkville Middle School and Yorkville High School, District 115. Since joining the Yorkville Fine Arts team in 2013, she has contributed to consistent growth in the curricular orchestra program as well as an alternative styles extra-curricular ensemble. An active performer, Emily is the assistant concertmaster of the Fox Valley Orchestra in Aurora and principal 2nd violin of the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra in DeKalb. She also plays 1st violin with her string quartet, New Vintage Strings, for many public performances and private events each year.

Jeremy Beyer, double bass, has extensive performance experience in a multitude of musical genres. He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Northern Illinois University, BME (music education) 2006 & MM (music history) 2014. He is principal bass of the Kishwaukee Symphony in DeKalb and assistant principal bass of the Fox Valley Orchestra in Aurora. As a jazz bassist, he performs regularly with the Chicago Hot Five/Six and Barb City Stompers, traditional/New Orleans-style ensembles, as well as occasionally in a trio setting. As a founding member and booking manager of the contemporary string quartet, New Vintage Strings, he organizes and performs many public and private event performances throughout Chicagoland every year. He can also be seen playing electric bass with the classic rock band, After School Special, with former colleagues from Adlai E. Stevenson High School. Jeremy has over 13 years of public school teaching experience. He currently teaches guitar, music theory and orchestra at Dundee-Crown High School, in Carpentersville, CUSD 300.

Maura Brown grew up in the St. Louis area and earned undergraduate degrees BM (performance), and BME (music education), from Ohio State University in 2007. She went on to earn master's degrees, MM (performance), and MME (music education) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2009. She serves as concertmaster of the Fox Valley Orchestra and directs the orchestras at Elk Grove High School, District 214.

Allison Zabelin studied music education and Spanish (BME, 2011) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She earned her master's of music education degree (MME, 2015) from VanderCook School of Music in Chicago. She performs regularly on viola and violin as a soloist and chamber musician. Ms. Zabelin teaches elementary and middle school orchestra in Libertyville District 70. In addition to making music with her students at school and in her private studio, Allison loves making music with her family and friends.

Kristi Kline has a degree in music education (BME, 2010) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a master’s of music education degree (MME, 2015) from VanderCook School of Music in Chicago. She has taught elementary and middle school orchestra at Community Consolidated School District 89 in Glen Ellyn since 2010. She enjoys performing in the Chicagoland area on both viola and violin, as well as teaching privately out of her home.
