The team is a collection of experience business owners, entrepreneurs and retirees. The corporation is formed on a Directorship basis.
President/Broker Board: Myrta Gschaar Jordan retired from the commercial insurance industry in 2008 after a 30-year career. She studied American Sign Language at Owens Community College and is now an active member of the Toledo Lutheran Deaf Church. She teaches ASL to hearing children and is working on a 911 memorial and her memoir.
Vice President / Accessibility Board: Wendy Wiital of Lambertville, MI. She is a former student at the University of Toledo. As the Accessibility Advocate at the Ability Center of Toledo, she learned what the laws, codes and community requirements are. Her and her family are residents of Bedford Township for close to 30 years, where she has helped with the accessibility needs for the local parks and ballfields.
Secretary/Alternate Director: As an entrepreneur with a diverse background across industries, Bernadette Opsahl is passionate about empowering new board members of nonprofit organizations through mentorship.
Treasurer/Director: Henry Jordan: Began in automotive sales (1984), transitioned to mortgage officer (1992-2008), currently Owner of Keystone Manufacturing Homes Sales LLC.
Director/Developer Board: As an Air Force veteran, Robert Opsahl brings discipline and dedication to his role as a Senior IT Consultant at a respected local firm, where innovation meets experience. Passionate about leveraging technology to solve complex challenges.
Director: The current Bedford Township Supervisor, Al Prieur, has extensive experience in project management and creating successful collaborations. His connections and expertise are highly valued.
Director/Librarian: Jodi Russ is the Community Librarian for the Bedford Branch of the Monroe County Library System and is a lifelong Bedford resident.
Director/Focus Group Board: Kevin Wexler is a semi-retired parts and surplus supplies dealer. He was instrumental in the creation of the original Bedford Community Stadium.
Director/Site Designer: Born in Toledo in 1943, Scott J. Heacock knew he wanted to be an architect by age 11. After graduating from Macomber with AIA Design awards for his four years in high school, Scott attended North Carolina State University’s School of Design. Scott has worked for notable firms in Raleigh and Durham, NC, Bowling Green and Toledo, OH, and Louisville, KY. He opened his firm in 2008 in Sylvania, OH. Among his many other notable projects, Scott was the designer of Toledo Memorial Park’s First Responder and 9/11 Memorial in Sylvania, OH.
