Welcome to My Portfolio
Hello! my name is Nevaeh Brewer, and I’m passionate about making a positive impact in the nonprofit sector, particularly in the lives of youth and families who have experienced foster care. With over a decade of lived experience in the foster care system, I bring a unique perspective to my work—one that combines personal insight with professional skills to drive meaningful change.
I understand firsthand the challenges that youth in foster care face, and I’ve dedicated my career to supporting those who are navigating similar experiences. My journey through the foster care system shaped who I am today, instilling in me a deep sense of empathy, resilience, and a strong desire to give back to the community. These experiences have fueled my commitment to ensuring that others have the support they need to thrive, no matter their background or circumstances.
Professionally, I have built a career grounded in relationship-building, project management, and community service. In my role as Case Manager at Treehouse, I manage a diverse caseload of young adults who are facing their own challenges. I create personalized case management plans to help them meet their personal and professional goals, and I leverage my own experiences to guide them with understanding, patience, and practical support. I am dedicated to helping these young people achieve the success and independence they deserve, just as I’ve worked to do in my own life.
Previously, as a Member Services Coordinator at The Wishing Well Foundation, I worked directly with foster children and their families to provide essential resources like clothing, school supplies, and other necessary items. In this role, I fostered strong relationships with community partners, donors, and volunteers, and I saw firsthand the profound impact that even the smallest gestures of support can have on a family’s well-being.
In addition to my professional work, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Social Sciences at the University of Washington, where I am expanding my understanding of social systems, human behavior, and the critical role of data in nonprofit decision-making. My education, combined with my lived experiences and professional background, has given me the tools to address the systemic issues that affect vulnerable populations and the drive to work toward solutions.
I am eager to transition into donor relations and fundraising, fields where I can build meaningful partnerships with supporters who are committed to helping those in need. My goal is to help organizations that are doing important work in the foster care space connect with donors, raise awareness, and create lasting change. I believe that my lived experiences, combined with my professional skills, make me uniquely positioned to contribute to efforts that support youth, families, and communities.
In this portfolio, you’ll find examples of my work, personal projects, and volunteer experiences that reflect my dedication to these causes. I hope it demonstrates not only my skills but also the passion that drives me to create a better world for individuals who have faced similar challenges to my own.
Thank you for visiting my portfolio. I look forward to connecting with like-minded individuals and organizations, and I welcome any opportunities to collaborate, learn, and grow in the nonprofit sector.
Warm regards,
Nevaeh Brewer
