Biography
I am a dedicated professional with a deep personal connection to the foster care system, which has profoundly shaped my career in social work. As a proud alumnus of Pierce College, where I graduated with honors and a 3.9 GPA, I am now building my career at Treehouse, a nonprofit organization that supports young adults transitioning out of foster care. In my role, I provide life skills education, administer financial resources to prevent homelessness, and offer trauma-informed care to help young people thrive.
In addition to my professional work, I am a devoted mother to a child with disabilities, which has further strengthened my resilience and commitment to making a positive difference. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Social Sciences at the University of Washington, I plan to continue my education with a master's degree in social work and specialize in nonprofit management, including grant writing and fundraising. My life experiences, both personal and professional, have equipped me with the empathy and determination needed to support others, and I am deeply committed to making a lasting impact in the nonprofit sector.
My greatest strength stems from my lived experience in the foster care system. This personal journey not only deepens my connection to the work I do but also provides me with a unique perspective that enables me to deliver trauma-informed care effectively within direct service roles.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Social Services, with a clear focus on transitioning into grant writing and fundraising. My goal is to advocate for foster children and support nonprofit organizations that are committed to improving their lives and well-being.
