Hi, thank you for your interest in our club! This club is meant for people with a common interest in the brain, its fuctions, and its affect on thought and behavior. Anyone is free to join our club whether you be a neuroscience student, psychology student, math student, or english student. All that is required is an interest in all things brainy. There is no knowledge requirement or an expectation that you have taken any neuroscience classes at UCR. We hope we can provide you with a place to discuss our common interest as well as provide a more interactive and fun resource for learning about the brain.
When do you meet?
We will meet every other two weeks starting October 15th from 7-8 pm. Attendance to all meetings is not required, however we’d love to have you there!
Where do you meet?
With classes remote this quarter, we will be meeting through zoom.
Meeting ID: 912 1224 7952
What do you do in your meetings?
Our meetings will be catered to whatever you would like to do. So, make sure if you want to do anything in particular, that you email and share your ideas.
If we have a sizable group interested in Medical School or Graduate school, we can have an MCAT or GRE info session.
If we have many people in the same class, we may have study sessions for that specific group.
If you want to hear about the applications of Neuroscience, we can also include a meeting in regards to that.
If you want to hear about the classes offered on campus, we can share our insights with you.
If you want to hear about job opportunities and/or positions open on campus for research, we’ll share this information with you as well.
If you you just want to hang out with like-minded people, we can schedule a Social.
Do you do anything other than meetings?
As opportunities on campus arise, we will email you all about them, so if you are interested you may have the opportunity to attend them.
We may send you emails about science job fairs, symposiums, talks by faculty doing amazing research, or even research assistant opportunities and job positions for people in majors relating to neuroscience/psychology/biology.
If you wish not to receive these specific emails, please tell us and we’ll make sure to only inform you about meetings.
We may participate/volunteer in fundraisers as well
Currently we are looking at an opportunity to work with The Migraine Initiative.
We are a new club, so you have the opportunity to shape this club, so please share your ideas.
