I'm using Windows 10 (OS build 18362.535). I know there's a scan utility called "Canon MF network Scanner Selector" that I'm supposed to use for scanning, but when I select it to open it in the Start menu, there's no response. It's not opening.

I hope other people avoid my frustration and difficulty by making sure to download (from the links above) not just the driver executable but also the scanning software executable. Not sure why these are two separate downloads (executables), especially since the driver executable installs scanner drivers (or gives the option to do so). Having a single download that installs drivers and asks you if you want to install scanning software would streamline the process for people setting up their printer for the first time and avoid the mistake I made. Also, why have the program "MF Network Scanner Selector" show up in the Windows start menu? Even today, with my scanner working, selecting this program from the Start menu does not open anything. This is very confusing - why have it listed in Start Menu if there's no response if you select it?. Just a couple suggestion for Canon's software team.

The IJ scanner selector is not the main scanner software for the Image CLASS series. If you only have the option for the Network scan utility, it will mean the MF Scan utility is missing and you will need that to perform scans. You can download the MF Scan Utility for the MF264dw using the link provided HERE. You can locate it under the tab for software and it will be the first one in the list.

I have a WiFi-connected printer and scanner (Canon MG 5700) that I use from Windows 10. One of the nice features of Windows 10 is that I never had to install any drivers or bloatware to get it working. Windows automatically discovered the printer on the network, and it actually works.

The solution is really thanks to the comment by Thijs van Dien. Before I found that I had already tried several things. Including moving the printer to the wired network, but I don't think that makes any difference.

I had the same issue with an HP scanner and it was an IPv6 / IPv4 problem, try to disable IPv6 on the scanner and see if it works.When my PC tried to connect to the scanner with IPv4 worked fine but when it used IPv6 there was something wrong going on.Rebooting the PC flipped the coin between IPv6 and IPv4 and sometimes worked, sometimes not.

I have just bought a shiny new Canon MG6250 multifunction printer/scanner and connected it via LAN. Installing the printing side of things was a breeze, however, I cannot work out how to set up scanning.

I installed the MG6200 series ScanGear MP driver from Canon's site but when I open GIMP or Simple Scan, they say there is no scanner detected. Using GIMP's 'update scanner list' button to search for the scanner does not find it.

LEAP 15 does not work similarily than earlier versions of SUSE. I have a net scanner, XP-700 Epson. I managed to get it printing today with no problem at all. Scanner on the other hand does not work via net interface.

I have a scanner on a network with 3 PCs (one running Windows XP, one runnning Windows 7 and one running Windows 10), all protected by ESET Smart Security. I have been unable to scan to any of the PCs over the network, and have spent several hours over the last week troubleshooting the issue.

Today, for the first time, ESET asked whether to allow access to the PC from the scanner's IP address. I confirmed that access should be allowed, and after this I was able to scan to that PC for the first time. I clearly need to do this on the other PCs, but my understanding of ESET doesn't extend to doing this without first being prompted by ESET.
