About the club
During November and December 2023, the project held four meetings of the Media Research Student Club, where second-year students of the Faculty of Philology, together with high school students from Chernihiv, learned the basic skills of a media literate person, pumped up their creativity, developed social intelligence, and simply had fun in a warm company of people who look in the same direction.
.
Despite the traditionally difficult February psychological climate, we gathered together with the students. Today was the first meeting of the student club after the winter break: Tactics of information warfare. Investigating influences on public opinion. «He who knows is forearmed!». It was cozy, creative, frank, and, as always, beneficial for everyone.
While the master's students went off to implement infomediary skills during their teaching practice, the Netting working group had an interesting and inspiring time working with bachelor's students of the Faculties of Philology and Natural Sciences and Mathematics. They held two meetings of the Media Investigations student group with the participation of high school students from Chernihiv schools. They discussed the peculiarity of the modern domestic media space, used fact-checking techniques that are important in everyday life and created algorithms for checking clickbait news. The students' experience of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics was interesting, as they chose scientific verification over fact-checking, refuting the thesis that "lightning can strike twice in one place."
We look forward to April and the continuation of the course "European Experience in Combating Disinformation and Propaganda" with Master's Degree students.
