Aaron Izaryk came on as the Head Coach of Bridgton Academy baseball in 2010. Since then he has transformed Bridgton into the premiere prep baseball program in New England. With two NECBA Championships, six playoff appearances, and countless players placed in top-level collegiate baseball programs, Izaryk has changed the culture of baseball at Bridgton Academy. His efforts were also instrumental in the construction of our new, Division I-level baseball complex on the Bridgton Academy campus.
In addition to his duties as Head Baseball Coach, Izaryk is also the Academy’s Director of Athletics, where he oversees the overall vision and programming of all athletic teams. Previous to that, he was Director of College Counseling, where he guided many of our young men through the college selection process, as well as helping to clear the sometimes murky waters of the NCAA Clearinghouse.
Before Bridgton, Izaryk served as pitching coach and catching instructor for the University of Maine, serving five years with the Black Bears. In the summers, he was an assistant coach of the Keene Swamp Bats of the NECBL and Hyannis Mets (now Harbor Hawks) of the Cape Cod League. As a player, Izaryk saw action in 197 career games at UMaine and batted .318, with 207 hits, 134 runs scored and 123 RBIs. Izaryk was named a Collegiate Baseball /Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American and a Second Team Academic All-American.
Outside of the Academy, Izaryk was Manager of the NECBL’s Sanford Mainers for seven summers, notching seven playoff appearances, 150 wins, a trip to the NECBL finals in 2014 and the 2015 Joel Cooney NECBL Manager of the Year award. He is currently General Manger of the Mainers. Throughout his time at Bridgton Academy and the Mainers, over 70 of Izaryk’s players have been selected in the Major League Baseball Draft.
Coach Lunn coaches Team Purple and is entering his 9th season in the Showcase League. He is currently an assistant coach & the recruiting coordinator at Keene State College, where he helped the Owls win the Little East Conference in 2025. Previously, he served as the junior varsity head coach and assistant varsity coach at Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, NH from 2013-2021. He has coached for the Coffey Post #3 baseball team out of Nashua, NH from 2014-2024 which won the NH State Championship in 2019 & 2023, NH State Runner-Up in 2021 & 2024, and Northeast Runner-Up in 2023 in his 10-year stint.
Coach Pacheco coaches Team Black and enters his 7th season in the Showcase League. He currently coaches with The Show New England. He serves as the Director of Social Media and Player Development for the organization. Previously, Coach Pacheco coached the JR Spinners and Trinity High School (NH) from 2015-2018. Pacheco played collegiately at Johnson & Wales University from 2011-2014 and was a three-year starter for the Wildcats.
Coach Wachter recently graduated from Tulane University with a degree in Business Management and Sports & Recreation Management. He was a pitcher for the Green Wave and helped Tulane win back-to-back American Confernce Championships. Wachter was a standout pitcher at Concord High School with multiple All-State selections and a State Championship in 2021. Wachter also played three falls in the Purple organization.
Coach Kerman enters his fourth fall in the league and serves as a coach for Team Purple. He is currently an assistant on the Pinkerton Academy staff and the head coach for the Coffey Post #3 legion team. Kerman played collegiately at UMass-Dartmouth and is a Team Purple Alum.
Coach Skafas is entering his first year at the helm of Team Navy. Skafas currently serves as a coach in The Show New England organization finshing his fifth season withthe program. He has previously coached at Haverhill High School and The Brooks School. Shafas spent time at Springfield College working in the Strength & Conditiong department.
Coach Abernathy is entering his first fall as an assistant with Team Navy. Abernathy serves as a coach in The Show New England organization during the summer and serves as an assistant coach at Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Mass. Previouly, Abernathy spent a season as a graduate assistant at Framingham State where he spent part of his playing career.
