Software Installation Preparation

PTV VISUM Installation Instructions

1. Run the PTV Visum setup file (i.e. Setup_VISUM_2024.01-09.X64.exe).

2. When the Select Setup Language window opens, select English and click OK.

3. Read the License Agreement and select the I accept the agreement option. Then click the Next button.

4. Read the Data Privacy Policy and select the I have read the data privacy policy option. Then click the Next button.

5. Select the directory where you want to install PTV VISUM and click the Next button.

6. Select the components that you want to install and click the Next button. We recommend the Standard installation.

7. Specify in which folder of the Windows start menu or in which group of the start screen the PTV VISUM shortcuts shall be created and click the Next button.

8. Select additional tasks to be performed in the installation and click the Next button. 

9. Verify your selection and click the Install button.

10. Once the installation is completed, click the Finish button. We recommend restarting your computer after installation.

PTV Vision - Python Installation Instructions

1. Run the PTV Vision – Python setup file (i.e. Setup_Vision-Python_3.9.5_x64.exe).

2. When the Select Setup Language window opens, select English and click OK.

3. Select Full Installation and click Next then Install.

4. Click Install Now.

5. Once the setup is successful, click on Close then Finish.

NERPM 2020 Model Installation

1. Go to NERPM 2020 Model Package Download and click on Click to Download 

2. Click on Download 

3. Click on Download anyway 

4. Save the file under C:\FSUTMS\D2

5. Right-click the file and click Extract All

6. Extract the zip file to C:\FSUTMS\D2

7. Then model is saved under C:\FSUTMS\D2\NERPM2020

NERPM VISUM 4-Step Model Excel Writer Installation Instructions 

1. Go to C:\FSUTMS\D2\NERPM2020\libraries\site-packages

2. Copy the “xlsxwriter” and “XlsxWriter-3.0.3.dist-info” folders

3. Paste the copied folders into the folder C:\Program Files\PTV Vision\PTV Visum 2025\Exe\Python\Lib\site-packages

PTV Visum License Installation

Prerequisites:

• Internet connection

• At least version 7.10 of the CodeMeter Runtime Kit program (the latest CodeMeter Runtime Kit is installed together with the product by default)

1. From the Help menu, choose License

2. In the License window, click the Manage licenses button

3. Click the Activate new license symbol

4. Copy and paste the license key received by email. For public sector users, please contact the FDOT Central Office to obtain the license key.

5. Click Ok

6. Click the Next button

7. Select the option On this computer

8. If necessary, select the license container in which you want to save the license key in the Container drop-down list

9. Click the Next button.

The license is activated in the selected license container. After that, the license will be available in the list of licenses in the License Management window.
