1- Who you are
The first thing you need to do is create your character’s backstory and personality type. You can write it down or memorize it and share it with the Game Master. Upon approval you may continue to the next steps which require a character sheet.
2- Name
Choose a name that best suits your character and write it down on the sheet. You don’t need a last name but some NPC or players may ask for it.
3- Species
Your species is probably the most important decision you have to make when creating a new character. It determines its primary attributes, basic competencies, special skills and limitations. Write all this information down on the character sheet (found in the species section of the book).
4- Socioeconomic Level (SEL)
The economic and sociological measure of a character’s work experience, wealth and social position. Choose one that best fits your character’s background.
1: Living below the poverty line with limited to no participation in the labor force.
2: Those employed in low-paying wage jobs with very little economic security and education.
3: Average standard of living with some education and no political power.
4: Considerably higher-than-average incomes and compensation. Hold some political power.
5: The wealthiest members of society, hold the highest social status and wield the greatest political power.
5- Secondary attributes
Having already written down your primary attributes in step 3, it is now time to allocate your secondary attributes score.
Secondary attributes come in pairs attached to a primary attribute and they further specify the ability of the player in these areas. The secondary attributes scores are allocated by the player who “spends” his primary attributes score and distributes them into its secondary attributes e.g a character with an intelligence of two may then spend two points in wit and/or memory.
6- Competencies
Depending on the type of character you play, choose ten competencies and add them to your character sheet. They must make sense within your narrative and should be approved by the Game Master. Before adding them to your list, make sure you have the proper prerequisites.
7- Specials and Spells
Some competencies like Spellcasting allow you to choose a special skill or spell. You can only choose one per competency with the proper prerequisites.
