From the start Imagineers designing New Epcot 2010 have been set on bringing the characters from Finding Nemo to the Living Sea's pavilion. With the bare bones in place and a brand new method of projecting character's underwater there is no better time to refurbish the Living Seas and no better character's to present the pavilions themes of ocean exploration and the conservation of ocean life.
The Pavilion Exterior is nearly unchanged with a few exceptions firstly a new sign is placed on the rocky marquee renaming the pavilion Nemo's Living Seas. Secondly the sunset mural is replaced by one inspired by the opening scene of Finding Nemo, with a lone anemone on a cliff overlooking the open ocean. The difference between the scene and the mural is the mural features the more iconic yellow anemone and Marlin and Nemo floating before it ready to venture out into the ocean.
Along with the changes to the marquee and mural the whole area around the Nemo's Living Seas Pavilion has been tinkered with to better convey the story and themes of the pavilion. Firstly a new audio loop composed of music from Finding Nemo is installed. New beach inspired planting and rockwork is used around the exterior to further the sea theme.
