Academic Background:

Nelson Duarte holds a PhD in Management by the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Portugal (2008) and a Master in Economics and Management by the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, Greece (Maich - CHIEAM) (2001). BSc in Management (2001) and Agrarian Management (1999) by the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Portugal.

Professional Activity:

Coordinator Professor at the School of Management and Technology of Porto Polytechnic (ESTG-P.PORTO). 

Researcher at INESCTEC.

Researcher at International Research Institute for Economics and Management (IRIEM). 

Director at the International Engineering and Technology Institute (IETI). 

In the past assumed several roles, such as Vice-Dean for Internationalization, Alumni and Institutional Evaluation; Technical Scientific Council President; Bachelor, Master and Department Director. 

His main areas of intervention, both scientifically and technically, are Business Models and Digitalization, Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Project Management and Sustainability are also within his research interests.
