Hi I'm Neil Owen Kipling, I run a community based radio station in Newcastle UK.

It's been a 6 year journey so far, I started Nova Radio North East with the aim of giving anyone from the local region an opportunity to learn about radio broadcasting & to give the local community it's own voice to express itself on many topics. I've had to learn new skills along the way, dealing with technical challenges, administration (ARGH!) & people management.

I've found quite rewarding especially when I've seen volunteers progress to bigger things in their life because of their time at Nova. One of the biggest challenges I've found is trying to resource funding & time management. Check out our progress at www.novaradio.co.uk
