Giving a voice to the North East.

So who am I.

The description "A Grafter" probably suit me best. I'm a husband, a father of two wonderful children, an event manager, project manager at Shepherd Offshore, a singer, a DJ, a radio presenter as well as station manager of Nova Radio North East

I originally come from beautiful seaside town called Llandudno in North Wales. I moved to Newcastle in 1994 to attend university where I completed my degree in Chemistry. The roles I've had throughout my life have drawn on my ability to analyse and plan.

I have two wondeful children from my first marriage and despite the inevitable breakdown of the relationship I remain good friends with my ex-wife. One thing I truly believe is a must for any parent in the modern world to ensure a supportive environment for the children.

I remarried in 2019 to my beautful wife Jessica who in my view is a true empath. Her career as a mental health nurse is testament to her ability to understand people. Her singing voice was the first thing that caught my attention, although her smile and deep brown eyes may have played a part. We have been together over 10 years now and I still get dreamy eyed in her presence. She does have me at a disadvantage however, being empathic she knows how I feel before I do.

For the past five years I've been station manager at Nova Radio North East. Originally an online only radio station but three years ago we merged with local station NE1-fm after they were hit with administative issues. Stepping up to the challenge I took on the station and megred Nova's programming bringing it up to level demanded by it's key commitments to offcom. It's been a great journey I've learned many new skills and got a better understanding of myself along the way.

My goals over the next 5 years are to establish our own building to operate from, expand on our interactive programming, continue to train up more people & give them the opportunity to get involved in broadcasting. Plus build the new addition to our ranks "anxiousminds radio"

Keep up to date with our progress at www.novaradio.co.uk
