My research has been mostly focused on the tropical intraseasonal oscillations (MJO and BSISO) and their predictability. These tropical modes along with other equatorial wave modes influence the monsoon variability and acts as the source of predictability in the subseasonal to seasonal timescale. I am also interested in understanding the interactions among different larges scale climate modes and how the large scale circulation systems respond to a warming climate. My research group pursues these problems using climate data analysis and modelling approaches.
