Mass Maritime Academy
Saturday, October 19, 2024
NE-COMMIT 's annual conference was on Saturday, October 19. This year's theme was "How can instructors successfully serve an increasingly diverse student body across the spectrum of dis/ability, identity, background, preparation, and more."
Two important goals of the NE-COMMIT are broadening the use of inquiry in mathematics in the New England area and creating a regional community of practitioners. We will focus on these two goals in particular at this event.
We welcome participants of any background using inquiry-based mathematics education as a pedagogical approach. We will continue our discussion about the role of inquiry in inclusive learning, an important connection that is ripe for further exploration and research.
The conference will take place at the Mass Maritime Academy on October 19. We are putting together a program to actively involve and engage all participants. There is an option to spend the night before and/or after the conference.
