Board Members

Jeffery Pressnell is an associate professor and has over 15 years of experience working in Writing Centers, Reading Centers, and WAC programs. He is passionate about helping basic skills students succeed in their college careers. He studied Creative Writing and Composition Theory at CSU Sacramento.

Loriann Negri is the Writing Center Manager at Sonoma State University, and she also serves as Director of MAP (Multilingual Achievers Program), a TRiO program housed in the Writing Center. Loriann has a long, and loving history with SSU’s Writing Center, and is a firm believer in the generative power of conversations about writing.

John Kincheloe teaches English and coordinates the Writing Success Center at Napa Valley College. He has worked in different capacities at collegiate writing centers around the S.F. Bay Area, and is passionate about the powerful role that writing centers can play in students’ success, as well as their joy for writing and critical thought. He has a B.A. from University of California, Santa Barbara, and a M.A. from Sonoma State University. 

Tammie Lovvorn is the Writing Center Coordinator for William Jessup University and also teaches developmental writing. She has her B.A. in English and her M.A. in English with an emphasis on Rhetoric and is passionate about helping students find their voice through writing. 

Sheryl Cavales Doolan is an English Instructor and the Writing Center Coordinator at Santa Rosa Junior College. She has a B.A. and M.A. from Sonoma State University, and has worked extensively in writing centers at both the university and community college levels.

Erin Goldin is the Director of the Writing Center at U.C. Merced.

Susan is the Writing Center Coordinator at Sacramento City College.

Bill is Associate Professor and Director of the University Writing Center at University of Nevada, Reno. He has published several books on writing center-related topics, and specializes in the areas of student agency in college-level writing, administration and assessment in writing courses, curricula, programs, and centers.
