One of the area's longest-standing scholarship opportunities for young women, the North Carolina Rhododendron Pageant is held over the course of the two evenings of the Festival, in the Bowman Middle School Auditorium. Each year two girls are crowned to embark on the incredible journey that is traveling our fine state representing the North Carolina Rhododendron Festival, Bakersville, and the beautiful Roan Mountain.
