About Me

Hello Everyone!

I am the kindergarten teacher at Nettle Creek School.  This is my tenth year at Nettle Creek but my 22nd year teaching.  I earned my undergrad in Early Childhood Studies from Northern Illinois University in 2005.  Because I love trying to figure out how to reach each student individually, I went on to get my Masters in Special Education also from Northern (2009).  Go Huskies!!!  I finished my English as a Second Language Endorsement through St. Francis.  I taught Early Childhood for 7 years in Plainfield and then spent 5 years teaching differing levels of Special Education at Saratoga Elementary.  I am beyond excited to be teaching K as this age level is my passion!!!!

I have been married for 19 years this August and we have 2 children.  Leah is 16 and starting her junior year and Joey is 14 and starting his freshman year.  They keep me very busy with all of their activities.  We are huge Cubs fans and love traveling to the city when we can.  Spending time with my family is my favorite and we enjoy being outside as much as possible.  If you volunteer in the classroom you will quickly see (and hear) my love for singing!!! I spend a lot of time running and biking in the summer and try my best to keep up with it during the school year.  

I am always trying to learn new things to try out in the classroom.  I love to attend conferences and watch online professional development videos. I can't wait to start getting to know your children and making our classroom the best possible place for them to learn.
