Behind every successful fire and life safety initiative is a network of dedicated partners working side by side with our educators. While fire and life safety personnel lead the charge, building true community resilience is a team effort that extends far beyond the walls of the fire station.
To honor this spirit of collaboration, the North Carolina Fire and Life Safety Educators (NCFLSE) is proud to present the Community Impact Award.
The Community Impact Award was established specifically to shine a light on individuals and organizations outside the traditional fire service who have embraced the cause of life safety as their own.
We created this honor to recognize our community "force multipliers"—the local business owners, civic leaders, school personnel, non-profits, and grassroots volunteers who provide the resources, platforms, and passion that allow our safety messages to reach further and make a deeper impact.
Whether they helped fund a major safety initiative, hosted outreach events, or consistently advocated for risk reduction in their neighborhood, these partners play an indispensable role in keeping North Carolina safe and informed.
Community impact doesn’t just happen once a year—it happens every single day. Because our community partners work tirelessly year-round, nominations for the Community Impact Award are open continuously.
If you know an individual, group, or business in your area whose support elevates your fire and life safety efforts, we encourage you to recognize their dedication!
