At 475 to 500 parts per million of CO2 large volcanic eruptions are possible. This would line up with the great death of nearly 300 million years ago. This could set the stage for a new ice age produced by volcanic ash blocking sunlight and plate tectonics absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere.
