National City Cancer Walk | Jun. 27, 10am - 5pm
Our Story
For many years, National City community leaders and neighbors participated in Relay for Life walks with American Cancer Society. They made the yearly events very special and successful in our community, bringing awareness to the fight against cancer.
After the pandemic, community leaders decided to bring back the walk and with the support of OTNC Organization, National City Cancer Walk (NCCW) was established in 2023. NCCW hosted its first event on June 1, 2024, at Pepper Park in National City. At this first official event, we raised a little over $30,000 and were able to help 25 people, from our very own community, with $1,000 each, as a means to help them in their journey as they fight cancer.
On May 31, 2025, we had our 2nd Annual NCCW at the J Street Marina. It was a great start with music, food, and energy. The community showed up to support our efforts! And then, we were hit by rain, thunder, and lightning, putting a sudden stop to our event. Regardless, we were still able to raise $30,000 and gave out thirty $1,000 donations to local cancer patients in need - bringing moments of joy to more patients in our community.
It is truly heartwarming to witness our organization brightening the lives of cancer patients in our community with the dedication and hard work of all of our teams and committee members making a difference in National City. Nobody walks alone.
