In June a naming contest was announced for our new newsletter.  Our winning submission came from Krista Hannah, Middle School Math coach with Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. Krista stated that, ".I chose the catchy alliteration because, let's face it... Math Matters!  It has significant importance. There is also the spin on "the matters at hand." Matters can do with any or all of the following: experiences, business matters, happenings, events, situations, circumstances, etc.. And like math itself, the word matters is all encompassing. It stretches beyond the subject matter into the real world."
