RDC (IGC) 2021

It all started on 1 October 2021. My 1st day of NCC in college and that too is selection level at battalion. Luckily, I got selected and my journey started from here. Rajpipla is a breeding ground for the personality development of cadets from where the highest number of cadets each year are selected to represent the Gujarat directorate at RDC. In the camp at Rajpipla whole day was exhausting. The schedule was much tightened than I expected. A normal day started at 5:00 am and we went to bed around midnight. In between this we luckily got a chance to have a power nap of 30 minutes. Although I came there for RDC I returned from IGC only. We had our 3 consecutive PRE RDC-LAUNCH camp held at Rajpipla and then finally a team of 54 cadets was formed. We 54 now will go to represent our Vadodara group at Ahmedabad.

At Ahmedabad,

It was not only a camp it was those 10 days that gave me a new family. We all are here to represent the Vadodara group and make its glorious past more glorious.

From the very 1st day, we start our journey in different-different competitions.

It was the time when our hard work is going to decide whether we will succeed or not. 10 days, 6+6 competitions, 6 group competitions, and 6 best cadet competitions in all 6 different wings. In Group competitions Guard of honor, Rajpath, PM rally, Flag area, and Cultural and line area competitions were there. I was the part of PM rally, Flag area, Cultural, and line area (briefer) competitions.

The most mesmerizing thing I have seen was that P. I staff and ANOs now became personal mentors. They were there with us 24*7. One by One days passed, and within 8 days almost all competitions were ended and now the excitement level for the results was at its peak. On the last day of camp, all were excited for the closing ceremony that wonderful evening that starts with the cultural performance of all the groups. The Deputy director general (DDG) of the Gujarat Directorate was the Chief Guest for that evening.

Now as result were out and I don’t know if I should be happy or not as I was not among the selected cadets it means for me RDC was a dream and it will remain a dream But I believe that have you enjoyed your journey or not? this is more important than the results. I enjoyed each part and now I am ready to share this wonderful experience with my buddies and Juniors.

AINTC(All India Trekking Camp) 2022

Trekking camp is one of the camp which comes under adventurous camps in NCC. I was selected to go for trekking camp which  was held in MADHYA PRADESH with the name AMARKANTAK TREK-2. There were a total of 22 cadets from 5 Guj batallion and a total of 101 cadets from GUJARAT Directorte. The camp had a total of 5 directorates. It was conducted between 29th of may to 5th of June.

We setteled at the camp and there was opening address. I was further appointed as the second Incharge senior of GUJARAT DIRECTORATE. The schedule was we would wake up at around 5’o clock, get dressed and had a fall in with uniform. there would be briefing about the trek that would happen on the following day. We had 5 different treks on 5 different days. After briefing we would change and appear in tracks for breakfast. We usually left the camp around 7. The trek would get over around 12 and we were back at the camp. We then would have lunch and got rest till 3’o clock. Further would be the most enjoyed games period, following the NCC song with instructions for the other day. We would have dinner and get some rest to get charged up for the other day. The total distance would easily be around 10km for a single trek. We saw many ancient temples which I will never forget about. We saw waterfalls, we also saw a hillstation with mesmorizing view.

Other than treks we also had various competitions. There were competitions like Volleyball,Tent pitching and the Most liked GUARD OF HONOUR. I got selected for GUARD of GUJARAT DIRECTORATE and we also stood second in the competition. We also performed well in other competitions. The prize for the Guard of Honour competition was given to us by ADG sir. On the last day we also had cultural performances performed. It was overwhelming to see different cultures. Cadets performed Kashmiri dance, bhangda, garba  and many types of traditional performances. We left Madhya Pradesh and came back on 6th of June. The overall trek was very good and we enjoyed a lot. I made many friends , not just from other battalions but also from different directorates.

Army Attachment Camp (AAC) 2022

We had the Army Attachment Camp 2022 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. 3 students were selected from SVNIT - SUO Rajat Govani, JUO Shubham Singh, and CSM Chiranjeet Pradhan, and there were a total of 30 cadets representing 5 Gujarat Battalion NCC Surat.

The camp was organzied by 16 MARATHA LI and our accommodation was provided by 9 JAK LI. At our arrival, we were briefed about all the activities and events to be conducted at the camp. The stay at the camp was amazing and the food was healthy, tasty and hygienic. All the activities and events were conducted timely and each event gave us a learning and exposure to the Army Life. We interacted with many officers, JCOs and Other Ranks, learning and enjoying their experiences. We even did firing with INSAS Rifle which will be a lifetime experience. The cultural activities on the second last day were mesmerising and everyone gave their best performances. It was quite a memorable camp and it would forever be etched in our hearts.

CATC 2022

"How's the Josh... ?" Not just a few mere terms. This is something that pumps up everyone to such a confidence and determination level from where they can achieve things that were unachievable before.

Rifle Drill is a part of weapon training in NCC. It teaches Cadets the handling of rifles. As the weapon is our best friend in war, it's very important to learn to handle weapons. Generally, we are provided with Self Loading Rife (SLR) in camp. As these weapons are heavy, so carrying them throughout the drill, makes us physically smart. We are also responsible for taking care of the rifle as it is one of our body parts.

Camp is incomplete without a trekking adventure with friends. So, the Cadets went for a visit to Karjan Dam by walking, which is about 7 km from the base camp. Visit to Statue of Unity

On 11 October, Cadets visited SoU as a part of the camp where BSF Jawans, after completing their bike rally for the anti-drugs campaign, performed many skills like Bike stunts, Yoga & Bhangra. Games - The game period in the evening gives a chance to cadets to play various sports with their buddies and interact with Cadets from other colleges. It is a very refreshing activity along with inculcating skills like teamwork, sportsmanship, and performance under pressure.

Cultural Event - The cultural event was organized in camp on the last night of Camp where Cadets from every college flaunted their talents like swordsmanship, Garba, poetry, and skits. The hour-long cultural program was a very memorable event
