About TCE

Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), Madurai, affiliated to Anna University is one among the several educational and philanthropic institutions founded by Philanthropist and Industrialist Late. Shri. Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar. It was established in the year 1957.

TCE is funded by Central and State Governments and the Management. The courses offered in TCE are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi. TCE was granted Autonomy in the year 1987. The major objective of TCE is to plan and implement a programme of education in Engineering and allied Sciences, to promote research, to disseminate knowledge and to foster co-operation and exchange of ideas between academic community and industrial organisations and to develop entrepreneurship skills among the students. It strives to achieve academic excellence along with harmonious development of personality of the students. TCE offers Eight Undergraduate Programmes, Thirteen Postgraduate Programmes and Doctoral Programmes in Engineering, Science and Architecture.The Undergraduate programs of TCE are accreditated by the National Board of Accreditation(NBA).

TCE has introduced Outcome Based Education and Bloom's Taxonomy-based evaluation process. TCE is implementing world bank supported Technical Education Quality improvement programme (TEQIP). Interaction with industries such as Honeywell, Yahoo, Microsoft, Motorola, IBM, Intel, CISCO, Agilent Technologies, Cognizant, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, TVS Motors, National Instruments and Texas Instruments has led to the establishment of State-of-the-art laboratory facilities and collaborative academic programs. Thiagarajar Advanced Research Centre in the campus houses the TIFAC-CORE in Wireless Technologies and an incubated RF and Antennas company named "Thiagarajar Telekom Solutions Limited".
