Every student in Nelson County deserves a high quality education that prepares them for a bright future. We are committed to promoting equity, access, opportunity, and accountability. We will do this through community outreach, parent, teacher, student involvement and advocacy for a next generation learning experience in preparation for college and career readiness.

1. Equity

NC Forward recognizes that many inequities exist in our county school system, the greatest within our middle schools. We will continue to advocate for a District Facilities Plan that confronts those inequities.

2. Access

NC Forward wants to ensure that every student in the NC school system has access to the same electives, cohorts and pathways regardless of where they live in the district. No child should be denied equal access regardless of their zip code.

3. Opportunity

NC Forward believes that every learner is unique and deserves an education that allows them to explore their passions and better prepares them for college or careers. We will continue to promote a plan that provides next generation educational opportunities for our students. 

4. Accountability

NC Forward will work to ensure that our elected Nelson County School Board and leadership act in the best interest of our students. Our students have the right to equal educational opportunities no matter where they live and we will continually advocate on their behalf.
