Orange County
Orange County has more than 133,000 residents with Hillsborough as the county seat. The county has three major towns, seven townships and twenty-three unincorporated communities. The county has two public school units, Orange County Schools and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools in addition to two charter schools. Orange County is also home of the Tarheels with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill being the major university in the county. The county is also in close proximity to North Carolina Central University, Duke University, Elon University, and North Carolina Agricultural and State University.
