I am an assistant professor in Entrepreneurship at the Strategy and Organization Division, School of Management at University of Bath. Prior to this position, I was a postdoc researcher at Goethe University Frankfurt. I defended my doctoral dissertation (with summa cum laude) at Goethe University in August 2020.

My research analyzes the factors influencing the success and failure of entrepreneurial activities as well as of firm innovation. I build on these insights to design and evaluate corporate strategies and public policies that foster entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly in settings which are characterized by weak institutions.

I have received support from research projects funded by Volkswagen Foundation, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) as well as Austria Diligentia Foundation for Empirical Research. My fieldwork in China has received generous financial support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Freunde und Förderer of Goethe University and the Interdisciplinary Centre for East Asian Studies (IZO).

My educational background and professional experience span Europe and East Asia. During my doctoral studies in Germany, I had research visits at Beijing Normal University (2016) and Sun Yat-Sen University (2018). I hold an M.Sc. in Business and Economics from Lund University , as well as two bachelors in Economics and Law from China.
