This national membership organization acts as an advocacy group for persons who are visually impaired. They award several scholarships to visually impaired persons and publish a monthly magazine.

Offers numerous films and publications related to visual impairment and blindness. A free catalog listing offerings is available upon request. AFB also operates a national technology center which conducts research and disseminates information related to technology. AccessWorld, a free online publication published 6 times a year, provides product reviews and information related to adaptive technology for the visually impaired. They have also established the Careers and Technology Information Bank (CTIB) which is a network of visually impaired persons who use assistive technology. To gain access to this data and obtain a list of job titles, contact AFB. Those planning to attend college should check with AFB regarding scholarships which may be available.

This national membership organization acts as an advocacy group for persons who are visually impaired. It also offers scholarships and a variety of other services and publications. Their monthly publication, The Braille Monitor, contains articles and information which may prove helpful to visually impaired persons. The Federation has established the International Braille and Technology Center which houses a comprehensive collection of products from many companies. Center staff evaluate and publish product reviews related to these products. They sell a variety of products including canes, watches, timers, etc.
