【National Statistics Competition 2019 is back!】

Mathematical Statistics plays a significant and important role in this changing environment which is full of unpredictable events such as climate change, natural disasters and financial crises. So, uncovering new mathematical models is important to solve all these real-life problems.

The National Statistics Competition leads the nation in cultivating the interest of students toward Statistics and training the students to think more critically and creatively to solve statistical problems. It defines your skills in 3 main areas which are Data Description, Probability and Probability Distribution.

This competition is open to all Malaysian students from the age of 18 to 22. Winners will walk away with total prizes worth up to RM2000++!

Today marks the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the festival of Hari Raya Aidilfitri or Hari Raya Puasa. Ramadan is a period of sober repentance for Muslims, with approximately 30 days of dawn-to-dusk fasting.

Wishing all Muslims a joyous celebration and enjoy the festivities ahead. May the good seen in Ramadan prevail. May peace come everywhere. Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri!

【Happy Gawai Dayak Festival】

Gawai Dayak Festival is celebrated every year on June 1 by the Dayak people in Sarawak. The word ‘Dayak’ is a collective term referring to the several hundred sub ethnic groups of indigenous people of Borneo. Gawai Dayak or also known as Hari Gawai is a thanksgiving and harvest festival marking bountiful yields and the planning of future prospects.

Do you know, Kaamatan or Pesta Kaamatan is a form of harvest festival celebrated annually in the state of Sabah in Malaysia. It is normally celebrated by the ethnic Kadazan-Dusuns, as well as by other related ethnic groups in the state, and lasts for the whole of the month of May, ending with a public holiday on a date selected by a priestess known as the bobohizan. 🌾🌾🌾
