National Postcard Week

Today's National Postcard Week was the brainchild of John H. McClintock, DeeDee Parker, Roy Cox, Richard Novick and others. It began in 1984 as a way to promote deltiology. In the early years, most of the postcards were made by the many clubs around the country, but today more cards are created by individuals.

2014-2023:  Demaris Swint has organized this week. 

Starting in 2024, the organizers are Clarissa Ferraris & Emery Heuermann

• Pick a design! Any design!  Be creative and original;

• Print 100 (see below some suggestions for printing) of ONE design All postcards in a set should be of the same design ( Popular size 3.5” x 5.5” or 4”x6”; 90 lb. to 110lb. cardstock.) 

• Mail all the postcards during the NPCW!!

Where to print your postcards?   Here are some suggestions from the members (not an endorsement from the organizers)

• Zazzle: Create Your Own Custom Postcards & Postcard Printing | Zazzle about $80-$140 for 100 postcards (front & back, 5.6" L x 4.25" H; Semi-Gloss, 12.5 pt thickness / 110 lb weight , Bright white, semi-gloss finish) - attention the dimensions are too large for normal sleeves and albums protectors (larger than 4") 

• Photocopies  at any outlet - cut in quarters a letter page. use 100lb cardboard.

• Canva: Home - Canva about $160 for100 postcard (Some coupon available); front & back, size of the postcard is small (5.5 x4.25 inches), Matte finish, premium paper.
